RUSSELLVILLE — Pope County Judge Ben Cross delivered a sermon Wednesday morning, hoping to convert Arkansans and fellow county citizens to his cause — voting down Issue 2 in next month’s election.Cross, a convert himself to the idea of bringing a casino to his county, delivered remarks against the initiative that would revoke Pope County’s license from a temporary stage erected in a lot on the 325 acres of land where the proposed casino would be built.”We’re here in mass to not only make our voices heard, but to set our record straight,” Cross said. “To let our fellow Arkansans know that Legends Resort & Casino is not some proposal.
